Applying for Funding
Every year, the NIH institutes publish research and funding agendas. It’s a good idea to check for priority funding areas within each institute to see if your research covers a topic that one particular institute is committed to funding. For a researcher, this information can be very valuable with assisting in the development of a research grant proposal. For example, the Strategic Plan for the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) provides the mission of NIDA, along with its 5 year goals for the 21st century.
