Resources and Facilities
- Be very precise about the resources you have for completing the project—don't assume that the reviewers will know you have all the necessary research equipment. Examples of resources that should be included are computers, printers, lab equipment, breathalyzers, X-ray equipment, centrifuges, Internet access, and so forth.
- In the other section of the application form's Resources page, list any resources and labs that are available through your university. For example, if there is a NIDA training center in your department, this is your chance to brag about it.
- You need to describe your organization here. A stronger case may need to be made for certain institutions with typically less resources and facilities, including nonprofit organizations or in state and local governments. Reviewers need to be convinced that the institution has extensive experience in conducting large-scale projects or has considerable expertise in the field. You may include a brief statement of the physical location or history of the organization, other kinds of contracts or grants the organization has previously had, facilities for focus groups or conferences, access to transportation for research participants, library collections or holdings, facilities or equipment for media production, and so forth.
